It’s exactly one year since Usha’s Very Own was launched. What an amazing year it has been! In just 12 months, Usha’s Very Own has been featured in magazines, on Instagram, and has hopefully helped you broaden your culinary horizons!
Thank you Marlborough News, Wiltshire Living, Wiltshire Life, Vegan Life and PlantBased for shining the spotlight on my work. Wiltshire Life even selected my Pakoras recipe to feature in its 75th Anniversary supplement entitled A Year of Recipes.
Eurostar Foods, my go to suppliers for gluten-free flours, have become fans and often feature ushasveryown.com recipes on their website.

My most popular dishes were Pakoras, Chole with Bhaturas and Paranthas.
Everyone who has sampled my Pakoras raves about them. They are so easy to make, yummy, nourishing and moreish - an amazing comfort food especially at this time of year and always my go-to snack when I am feeling a little under the weather with a piping hot cup of warming masala chai.
Variations to my original Pakoras recipe include Marrow Fritters, Broccoli Fritters and Ground Elder Pakoras. Ground elder is an excellent spinach substitute providing a nuttier ‘bite’ and flavour and thus a great use of rampant ground elder you may have growing in your gardens.
Parantha variations include standard and gluten-free versions of Mooli, Gobi, Methi, Ground Elder and Aloo Paranthas.
You may have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet over the last few months. This is solely because the pace of my Qigong Teacher Training course has become quite intense. I’ve also been given a fantastic opportunity to take over a local Qigong class with immediate effect. This does mean, however, that I will be busier still with all things Qigong for the next few months so please bear with me. I will have many more new recipes to share with you in due course!
